San Angelo Living

Visitor%20Center_edited.jpg

San Angelo is considered the Oasis of West Texas. A small city of 88,000 families and friends working together makes this a fine place to live. Three lakes fed by the three Concho Rivers surround San Angelo. San Angelo is large enough to have a university, Angelo State University, and an Air Force Base, Goodfellow Air Force Base, but small enough not to have the crime rate of some larger cities.

San Angelo is built around historic Fort Concho, the best-preserved Indian Wars fort in the nation. San Angelo has abundant shopping with a major mall and dozens of smaller shopping areas. For the outdoorsmen, we have deer, turkey, dove and quail; black bass, small mouth bass and catfish fishing, and four municipal and two country club golf courses in use virtually year-round. Cultural opportunities also abound in San Angelo. The city supports a civic theatre, a symphony and chorale, and a civic ballet company. The city's Museum of Fine Arts brings exhibits from around the world. Each year, the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo and the Roping Fiesta draw thousands to the city coliseum.

The majority of days here are sunny with an average humidity of 79% in the mornings and 44% in the afternoons.

Average rainfall is 20.45 inches per year. Average temperature is 65 degrees in the winter and 88 degrees in the summer.
